hw 7b

chapter 4/5
precis: these chapters are about what its like to start a franchise and how operating it is sort of like working for other people as well. Also how it is hard to veto the rules of the major operator's rule
gems:"give up their former lives and devote themselves to mcdonalds." pg 95

I find it crazy that these corporations are like mini governmentsd of their own. Its like the companies are their own countries and the head of the company is the president of everything food related.

chapter 5:

this chapter was aboujthow french fries basically became the baby to almost every fast food joint. Also how they taste so good and they are consumd at a rapid rate. Tis chapter also hits on how french fries were becoming experimented with and put through various tests to see what the strengths and weaknesses were of the fries. J.R Simplot foresaw the frozen food business as providing meals of the future.

Gems: the 1950's was the glden age of food processing

This guy j.r simplot was like he founding father of food experimenting and he was basically the man who put these onion rings and fries in my freezer and freezers all around the world. It makes me think where would we be without food that could be frozen and reheated.
